Research in the English Classroom: Theory and Practice
Description
The aim of the subject is to help the teachers in the encouragement to reflect, analyse and investigate in the language classroom. This also presupposes to value the importance of research in a language classroom in order to be in touch with the reality of the class to transform it into the right direction. Some research paradigms will be met such as the teacher and the student self thought and motivation in the classroom.
The subject is divided into four thematic blocks:
Block I – Research in the classroom
‣ Research vs action. Search and data collection: qualitative vs quantitative research
Block II – The Reflective Teaching Mode
‣ The teacher and student paradigm of thought– classroom observation.
Block III – Motivation in the foreign language classroom
‣ Theories and paradigms of motivation
‣ Model to study motivation sources
