New Trends in the Literature of the English-Speaking Countries
Description
This course is focused and sequenced around the presentation of each type of production and selected authors, as well as the study of their most relevant literary features. The second step is related to a guided praxis of representative literary works (or parts of them), so that the student acquires the capacities to appreciate the literary texts and its adjacent components.
The most important goal is to offer students access to literary works and most relevant authors of the chronological and historical period covered in this Master's subject: twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century; as well as the advance within the knowledge concerning the current age (periods, movements, genres and authors) and the knowledges concerning the methodology of the literary analysis applied to English texts of new literatures in English language.
Another goal lies in the fact of continuing with the learning of the studied subjects and the rest of the subjects of the Master's degree related to English language, delivered in the initial stages of these studies and which opened the door to a period where the study language and literature requires specific knowledge and must assume a specialization.
