Language for Specific Purposes: English for Health Sciences

Description

This course aims to assist students in the design of English courses for specific purposes in Medicine and Nursing. It also provides the foundation for them to produce reviews and translations on health issues, and even working as a language support staff in health institutions. Furthermore, there is also a wide area of research in health topics related to the degrees of Physiotherapy, Medicine and Nursing.

The course is divided into four thematics blocks:

Block I – Needs analysis

    ‣ The need analysis is a requirement to guide us in the specific goal of this course

Block II – Online courses

    ‣ Online eight unit course about English for Health Sciences

Block III – Drafting of a specific glossary

    ‣ Creation of a specific glossary for Health Sciences

Block IV – Location and design of new materials

    ‣ Location and design of new materials for Health Sciences
