Language for Specific Purposes: Business English

Description

This subject deals with the knowledge of the specific varieties of economic, commercial and financial English. Similarly, an analysis of the lexical and syntactic features of business English are presented. Moreover, it makes a theoretical-practical and descriptive proposal of the most common genre within the economic- business field together with their own register. Finally, it discloses the cultural aspects to successfully conduct business negotiations.

The course is divided into five thematics blocks:

Block I – Business English: economy, finances and commerce

Block II – Syntactical and lexical features of Business English

Block IV – Genre of the oral-aural means

Block V – Commercial negotiation. Intercultural differences
