My
major field of interest are presently the characterisation of emerging viruses
infecting cucurbits, the study of cucurbit potyvirus ecology, epidemiology and
variability, the development of control strategies with a special reference on
breeding for resistance and on the risk assessment studies on transgenic plants.
I
have published more than 75 scientific papers in international journals and
contributed to 12 book chapters and more than 100 posters and oral presentations
at national and international meetings. I am the co-author of two books : ‘Les
maladies des Cucurbitacées’ published in 1991 and translated in five
languages and ‘Principes de Virologie Végétale’ published in 2001.
Presently,
I am the President in charge of the 'International Vegetable Virus Working Group'
