Antonio Fernández Álvarez



Antonio Fernández received his M.S. degree in Computer Science in 2005 and obtained his Ph.D. in 2011, both at the University of Almería (Spain). He is member of the Data Analysis (FQM-244) research group at the Department of Mathematics (University of Almería). He currently works as a Data Scientist in banking (Cajamar) and teaches at the University of Almería.

His research interests are currently focussed on:

  • Inference and learning in networks with mixtures of truncated basis functions (MoTBFs).
  • Probabilistic Decision Graphs (PDGs).
  • Approximate propagation in Bayesian networks.
  • Bayesian network models for regression and classification.
  • Bayesian networks for the analysis of massive data streams.
  • Bayesian network applications to environmental problems.
