Almería province is situated in the south-eastern corner of Spain, being agriculture, marble and tourism its main resources. Almería offers visitors exceptional coastline bathed in sunlight and warmth, deserted beaches and coves with water so clear that the secrets of its depths are almost visible, and from which you can explore the province’s unique landscapes. However, Almería offers visitors much more than beaches and sunshine. The variety is astonishing, from the desert regions of Cabo de Gata and Tabernas, to the fertile early agriculture green house area, the valley of Andarax, Filabres mountains, Cuenca del Almanzora and Los Vélez.
The 1st Congress of the ISAP/9th International Conference on Applied Algology will be held at the Hotel Playadulce in Aguadulce (Roquetas de Mar, Almería). The Hotel Playadulce is fully equipped to ensure a successful conference. The Organizing Committee has designated two other official hotels. Hotel Andarax is also situated in Aguadulce. Hotel Playaluna is located in Roquetas de Mar, approximately 8 kilometres away from Aguadulce (Conference Site). Morning and evening bus service from the official hotels will be provided. Taxi and city bus services are also available.

The conference will take place in Aguadulce/Roquetas de Mar, a beautiful town situated 12 Km from Almería City, beside the Mediterranean sea and with the mountains of "Sierra de Gador" behind. Roquetas de Mar is the most important tourist centre in Almería and one of the most important of Andalucía. In this unique town tradition and modernity combine to offer tourists the best facilities in addition to the charms of a fisherman’s town , having been awarded "Town Council of Tourist Excellence".
